Montpelier

Ok so even though we were all sick and it was raining cats and dogs......the History buffs still made us go to Montpelier, the home of James Madison. Here are a few pics.

Shaving buddies

So this is what I will remember from times like this! No Matter what my Mom and Dad are doing they always include the kids and make time for them. So the boys wanted to watch Grandpa shave, so he didn't want them to feel left out!!! Cute!!!!!

National Lampoons vacation!!!!!!!!

Ok We are finally back. We were suppose to come home Friday, but I was sick as a dog and could not drive home. Even though I'm still sick we had to come home cause Steve works today. Driving there it poured the whole way! Thank God we took 2 cars and I just followed Steve's taillights the whole way. Once we got in the mountains that was it....all the kids started puking! I should have known then! Of course I had all the sick kids in the van with me. Go figure? So we finally get there and Ali and Nicolas are really sick. And Grandpa (my Dad) is also coming down with something. GREAT! So my kids just laid around and threw up and were so sick. We made 2 trips to the urgent care cause the fevers were spiking to around 104. Grandpa actually had to go to the ER and stay the a couple days in the Hospital! We did have a nice visit with my aunt and we were all together! Christmas was nice. The kids played all day and we ate a nice huge meal. Mom and I hit the after Christmas deals at our favorite stores. Now coming home was pure Hell. Poured again and nothing but traffic. I was so sick I just wanted to get home! What should have taken 9 hours took 12....and we only stopped twice!!!!! Normally we stop 4 or 5 times. We are home and I'm still sick....today it's the puking stage. Thank goodness that wasn't yesterday! So I am going to pray the kids are good and let me lay on the couch and try to get some rest!

I hope everyone else had a great Christmas! Don't get me wrong ours was good. I just wish we weren't all sick! But we were together.

Thanks for the Text Rachel! It really means alot to me that you always text me on those important holidays! I miss ya tons and hope I can get up there soon to see ya!

Letters to God

Got these from my friend and thought they were so cute! Gotta love kids!

cover

Well here's the cover and I added some things to some of the month's. I'll update that later.

The Wooden Bowl

My Friend Rachel just sent me this and it is wonderful!

The Wooden Bowl

I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now.
A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year - old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.'We must do something about father,' said the son. 'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.' So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sh arp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food. The four-year-old watched it all in silence. One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?' Just as sweetly, the boy responded, 'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up. ' The four-year-old smiled and went back to work. The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.
On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things:
a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.
I've learned that, regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life. I'v e learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making a 'life..'I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doi ng the very best you can, happiness will find you I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone. People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

So here is a few pages of the calendar. There are more to come. Some I like some I don't. I sit and do these in about 20 minutes! I just do one here and there in between all that is going on and now with me being sick it is getting harder to get it done. I have Jan done but need to pick up the pic to put on it. I used a Tim Holtz technique. Wahooo.... Dec is blank but same thing I need to pick up the pics today since I still have a broken printer. And let me note that these are not great pics or even good LO's. They are just pics taken throughout the year that half of them I didn't even take. My mom wants to see pics of people she loves and does not care what it all looks like. She just loves the fact that I do it for her.

My Cupid

Well last night we were so busy. Scouts for Boo. Dance for Ali and Isabelle had a little play at school. We managed to get it all done. I got to the play and had my Camera all charged and I get it out to take the first pic and it says NO CARD IN CAMERA!!!!!!! duh............ So I hurry and search my big Camera bag and found an old card. When I put it in it said it would hold about 60 pics!!! HA!!! Really old card. Anyway I managed to get a few pics. I sat kinda far away so the ones durning the play are horrible. But at least I got a few. She was Cupid the reindeer.

Christmas

Is everyone getting ready for Christmas? I'm not really. No decorations. I only wrapped what I had to just to get it in a box and in the mail. I have not taken the kids to get pics done or I have not taken one myself. I haven't even started my Christmas cards yet. This is so unlike me! Everytime I get the house clean enough to put up the tree the kids mess it up! Also our house is just to darn small. Our formal Dining room has been taken over with toys! That's the only place the tree will fit. I think we just won't put any decorations up this year. I might just not send out cards either. Bah Humbug! ha ha ha ha!!!! It really is hard to get into the mood when it's 85 and humid and my air runs all day!
I have been working really hard on my Mom's Calendar. I am pleased with it so far. I love doing her calendar every year cause she loves it so much and loves looking at all the pages and all the stuff I add. It makes me happy! I wish I had time to make more stuff. When the kids get older maybe.
It has been a rough year and I just can't wait for 2008 to begin.!!!!!!!!

Yellow Rose

I always thought that yellow roses were pretty! Here is one that my daughter got for her Birthday.
