Adore You

Just a little LO I did this AM while the kids were playing with Moon Sand. And can I just say that stuff is a mess! Worse than Playdoh! Raining here and 70 degrees. Yes I know better than most of the U.S. But yesterday was in the 80's. Mom says that she had snow flurries this AM!

Sad Day

So 1 year ago today my cousin Jimmy died. What a sad, sad, sad day for me. Been thinking of him and my aunt. I have been thinking of him alot lately. I have a tape uf us when we were in gradeschool that I got and I have not brought myself to watch it yet. Well it's been a year so I might get it out and watch it. It does not seem like a year and I don't think it has gotten any easier. I have kept busy all day but I know when I lay down tonight I will think about it alot.

Easter

Well we had a great Easter! Woke up way to early to find the good old Easter Bunny had left the kids baskets. They loved that! Then we wnet to my MIL's house and just played tennis and actually swam in the pool! Those crazy kids! We had an egg hunt and then they went down to the beach and just played alittle. We had a nice laid back lunch. It was a long day and everyone was so tired. It was rough getting them up for school this am.
Busy week this week. Lots of dance activities, math team practices and school photo's. They do get Friday off and all of next week though. Thank Goodness we all need a break! I think I want it more then them! Well everyone have a great week.

Ali's Journal

So Ali wanted a Journal for herself so here is what I made this evening. She liked it.

My QOTD journal

So I have been asking the kids a Question Of The Day and putting it in this journal. It is so cute the things they say. I hope when they get older they can look at their answers and get a good giggle! Anyway I decorated the front cover and the inside. I'm not done yet, got more stuff to do to the inside. Anyway here it is!

Being a Mom...

Thanks Rachel this is beautiful! I can tell you as a mother of 4 every word of this is true!

Being a MOM...
We are sitting at lunch one day when my daughter casually mentions that she and her husband are thinking of 'starting a family.' 'We're taking a survey,' she says half-joking. 'Do you think I should have a baby?' 'It will change your life,' I say, carefully keeping my tone neutral. 'I know,' she says, 'no more sleeping in on weekends, no more spontaneous vacations.'

But that is not what I meant at all. I look at my daughter, trying to decide what to tell her. I want her to know what she will never learn in childbirth classes. I want to tell her that the physical wounds of child bearing will heal, but becoming a mother will leave her with an emotional wound so raw that she will forever be vulnerable. I consider wa rning her that she will never again read a newspaper without asking, 'What if that had been MY child?'
That every plane crash, every house fire will haunt her. That when she sees pictures of starving children, she will wonder if anything could be worse than watching your child die. I look at her carefully manicured nails and stylish suit and think that no matter how sophisticated she is, becoming a mother will reduce her to the primitive level of a bear protecting her cub. That an urgent call of 'Mom!' will cause her to drop a soufflé or her best crystal without a moments hesitation.
I feel that I should warn her that no matter how many years she has invested in her career, she will be professionally derailed by motherhood. She might arrange for childcare, but one day she will be going into an important business meeting and she will think of her baby's sweet smell. She will have to use every ounce of discipline to keep from running home, just to make sure her baby is all right. I want my daughter to know that every day decisions will no longer be routine. That a five year old boy's desire to go to the men's room rather than the women's at McDonald's will become a major dilemma. That right there, in the midst of clattering trays and screaming children, issues of independence and gender identity will be weighed against the prospect that a child molester may be lurking in that restroom. However decisive she may be at the office, she will second-guess herself constantly as a mother.
Looking at my attractive daughter, I want to assure her that eventually she will shed the pounds of pregnancy, but she will never feel the same about herself. That her life, now so important, will be of less value to her once she has a child. That she would give herself up in a moment to save her offspring, but will also begin to hope for more years, not to accomplish her own dreams, but to watch her child accomplish theirs. I want her to know that a cesarean scar or shiny stretch marks will become badges of honor.
My daughter's relationship with her husband will change, but not in the way she thinks. I wish she could understand how much more you can love a man who is careful to powder the baby or who never hesitates to play with his child. I think she should know that she will fall in love with him again for reasons she would now find very unromantic.
I wish my daughter could sense the bond she will feel with women throughout history who have tried to stop war, prejudice and drunk driving. I want to describe to my daughter the exhilaration of seeing your child learn to ride a bike. I want to capture for her the belly laugh of a baby who is touching the soft fur of a dog or cat for the first time. I want her to taste the joy that is so real it actually hurts.

My daughter's quizzical look makes me realize that tears have formed in my eyes. 'You'll never regret it,' I finally say. Then I reached across the table, squeezed my daughter's hand and offered a silent prayer for her, and for me, and for all the mere mortal women who stumble their way into this most wonderful of callings.

My new toy

So no kits this week in the mail so I went to my LSS that I had not been to in ages! It was a zoo. We have this thing called Northeastern Florida Shop Hop. It's where you go around to about 10-15 stores in the area and you get like 4 days to do it and there are discounts and big prizes. It's actually pretty fun, but I'm wanting to take some bigger scrapbook trips this year so I'm not getting involved in that this year. Anyway the store was having a Pre-Party and I just wanted to get out of there. So Ali and I bought this Clip-it-up. I really didn't want it when I first saw people with it, but I thought it would free up some space. So I filled all 80 clips with several items on each clip and I bought extra clips. Not sure if I have room for anything else. They had the upper tier but I thought the thing was crazy money and didn't really need the upper part! It will be nice to have some stuff right there in front of me. I tend to not use stuff cause I forget about it or don't want to dig for it. Although it did free up some space I would need like 20 of these things to really make a dent in all my crap! Yes I said crap! That's how I'm looking at it right now. The whole hobby has me irritated right now. It's just sad that a few people can ruin it for you. That's why I come to my computer less and less lately.

Anyway I did finish a mini album this weekend and made some TH tags. FUN stuff.

Ok I did take Ali to get her hair cut. We just got it cut, but she wanted it short so we got it short. It looks great. She wanted bangs and they make her look so much better. I'll get a pic of her later.

Well I'm looking into going on a scrapbooking cruise to Alaska with TH. Kinda scared to go alone, but oh well! DH said he'll go with me. Hey that might be fun actually. Got to pay our taxes first, ya that's right we owe this year! YUK!!!!!! We knew it though. Somebody screwed up my forms I filled out and they take like no taxes out of my pay. The office I work out of is in California so I guess we were just to lazy to change it. Oh well. No Big deal. We knew so we are prepared.

Anyway say a little prayer for Ali she has FCATS all week. Too much pressure on these kids now-a-days. I never had to take tests where they say IF you do not pass this you will not advance to the next grade! BS! Ok I better go before I get started on the Florida education system!

shelves

So DH hung some shelves for me and I am so excited! I just put a few of my things up there for now. Still got a ton more. The single shelf I am going to hang a big pic in a black frame above it. I will probally move alot of that stuff off then so it is not too cluttered. I also need to put my Yellow ribbon jar up on the top shelve. It broke and I need to replace it. I hope they still sell those jars.

I don't have alot of room so these shelves are more for storage, not looks. I wish I had more space to make it look all pretty, maybe at our next house! Anyway I'm happy just to have space at all. When I'm all finished I'll take more pics.

My Girl

Ok so this Kindergarten girl is getting so big!!!! Makes me sad! She is not a baby anymore! Anyway I just thought she was a cutie pie this AM so I had to share.

This cures a bad day!

Ok I was in my bedroom fixing up my scrap space , putting stuff away and just cleaning when I heard the drawer open in the kitchen........So I go running, even though nothing too dangerous is kept in them, Still my kids are all very curious. Nicolas was watching Nick Jr. being good for me. So like I was saying I run out there and see this...................................

So I guess something was on Yo Gabba Gabba that they were doing this. Balance a spoon on your nose and stand on one foot. Ok seriously, my life is a little boring, BUT I love this kid!!!!! I was having a bad day and just to see the simple joys of a child made me smile and forget about everything. Then I just sat and played with him!!!!!!!! This is what life is about. Sometimes we get so caught up with things that we forget to live and laugh and just be silly!!!!!! What an awesome reminder God has given me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, then he took the spoon off and just died laughing! That was the best part!

Hope everyone just takes the time to have a good laugh today!

WOW What a weekend!

Ok so I survived the boys sleepover! The one boy, who is really really sweet, is being raised by his grandma and she warned me that he has never been away from her. So at about 11pm we told the boys they needed to settle down and watch tv and get ready for bed. He suddenly said his head hurt and then his belly....ect. He was so cute. So I asked him if he wanted to go home and he said yes. So I took him home. Then the other boy, who is more hyper, stayed till like 2 the next day. Then somehow I agreed for him to come over again yesterday after church. So he was here till 8pm last night! I managed to keep the house clean except for BooBoo's room. Overall they were good. They like wrestling and that drives me nuts!!!!!! So they were trying to wrestle on the trampoline. Had to yell a couple of times! But the three boys never fought the whole time. I love boys. NO DRAMA! If they disagree the just move on.

Anyway this week I am fixing up my scrap space and getting things ready out in the garage to have a garage sale soon! My wonderful DH hung 3 black shelves on the wall for me. They look awesome! Hey now I can get a few things off the floor that were in bins. Hope everyone has a great week!!!!!
And here is Ali , our Student of the Month. Good Job sweetheart! Mommy is proud of you!
